Run your first collage

You don't need to be an AI expert. The Collage is designed to be run by anyone motivated: the material carries the content, your role is to deal the cards, keep the pace and get the group talking.

Why facilitate

Running a collage means helping a group understand the stakes of AI for themselves, in two hours and without a lecture. It is also the best way to deepen your own grasp of the subject, and to grow a community that takes these questions seriously.

What you need

  • The deck of cards, to download and print (or the online version).
  • A group, from a few people at a table; larger groups split across several tables.
  • About two hours, plus a little preparation beforehand.
  • No technical background, for you or for the participants.

Preparing, step by step

  1. 1

    Get to know the deck

Download the cards and read through them calmly to make the sequence your own.

  2. 2

    Experience the workshop

Take part in a collage, or run one yourself: nothing beats the player's-eye experience.

  3. 3

    Practise online

Get familiar with the tool using the solo demo, then try a session with several people.

  4. 4

    Facilitate

Gather a first, friendly group. Deal, connect, discuss: you're up and running.

The facilitator guide is on its way.

A detailed guide (flow, timing, facilitation tips) is in preparation. In the meantime you can already get started with the cards, and write to us if you'd like a hand with your first workshop.
